Today’s ride was fun. Nice to know all my emphasis on bike training the past few months is working.
With all the VO2 max and FTP training I’ve been doing on the Computrainer (ERG mode ftw), I couldn’t imagine myself racing without a power meter. Hello Garmin Vector. Being able to transfer it from bike to bike was an important selling point for me. Now only if this rain would chill for a bit..
If I only had 5 minutes left to live, I would spend it testing VO2 max power cuz each minute feels like an eternity 😜😓
Great email from Training Peaks! Despite a small cold that I recently caught, I think I am officially in race shape… Plus I have five more weeks to “dial in”. Still alot to work on though :/
I will swim mile long exorcisms
Lapping demons with each stroke
To conquer my fears
Ever present ever present
I will bike black asphalt penance
Spinning new poems alone
Writing through the disappeared
Forever lost forever lost
I will run angry tear searing steps
Pounding miles away from you
In order to reach my finish
Never yours never yours
Brick done. Happy -> 20.6 mph on bike, 7:39 min/mile run.
Was quite pleased with my results, especially the bike since it was on my Tarmac.. The Shiv would have been faster through some of the windy parts.
I made a bad mistake by leaving my salt and nutrition in my car, but I did have one pack of cliffblocks and two bottles of cytomax.. If I hadn’t done that, I imagine I would have hit 7 min/mile, as I found my legs rather quickly compared to my recent Sim, where it took me two miles to settle into a running rhythm— i did get hungry though, but I grabbed a Bonk Breaker in my car when I transitioned to run. But hey, I’ll take it!
Hope you guys are having a great weekend!
I ran here.
Brick tomorrow, so I’m excited. At the moment, cooling down from 90 minutes at 90% FTP on the computrainer. Training is picking up big time. Hoping to see some cycling improvement measured against my last brick.. We’ll see.
