I run sh*t...

We rode Lake San Antonio Wildflower long course again today. The winds make me sad haha. My bike strategy is crafted now though even though my time sucks, but at least I’ll have legs for the run until the course + heat beat them out of me lol.

Climbing Mt. Diablo for fun tomorrow.. Hope everyone’s having a good weekend.

We went to Lake San Antonio (Wildflower loc) and road the 56 mile course.. What a fun ride! I love climbing. Three more weeks!

Do not buy this product! XLAB Aero TT bottle.

Long story short: Ironman Oceanside, this bottle, secured to my seat tube, held my very last nutrition (I use liquids only, no solids).. I reached down to grab it, unbeknownst to me, i opened the flip top by accident, and proceeded to pour my carb drink all over myself— no nutrition for the last 40 minutes of bike and I was a sticky mess.

Poorly designed bottle! A flip top bottle cap is stupid, it should screw shut.

Fun race at Ironman Oceanside.. Had a few things go wrong, but I pressed on and found a way. Thanks to all the triathletes, runners, cyclists and swimmers on here (tumblr).. Each one of you have inspired me in some form or fashion. Cheers!

Major development - IM Oceanside

I haven’t trained in exactly one week. This time next week is the race, Ironman Oceanside 70.3. I caught a bad flu from a coworker. Although I should be tapering, this will now be a critical weekend for me. I’m thankful that I stayed consistent with my training this whole time, otherwise this setback would have been catastrophic. Lessoned learned, yet grateful. Stay tuned.

Wildflower?

Not sure how I feel about the 1.2 mile swim, 2 mile run (back to transition), 56 mile bike, 11.1 mile run this year..

The drought in California is real!

I did a sprint this weekend for tuneup for Ironman Oceanside.. Pretty much cruised as I didn’t want to risk a plantar injury three weeks from the race. Used this mostly for equipment check and transition.. Easy effort, 20 mph bike @160W and 8:01 min/mile run.

Today’s ride was fun. Nice to know all my emphasis on bike training the past few months is working.

With all the VO2 max and FTP training I’ve been doing on the Computrainer (ERG mode ftw), I couldn’t imagine myself racing without a power meter. Hello Garmin Vector. Being able to transfer it from bike to bike was an important selling point for me. Now only if this rain would chill for a bit..
